At the crossroads of the Sado Estuary and Serra da Arrábida, Troia Golf is an 18-hole, par 72 course, 6.317 metres alongside the beach with a magnificent sea view. Designed by the American golf architect Trent Jones Senior, Troia Golf was elected one of the best golf courses in world by Rolex in 2011, and now features in the guide The Rolex World's Top 1.000 Golf Courses. Also, the magazine Golf World qualified Troia Golf as the 32 best golf course on Continental Europe, in 2011. Robert Trent Jones Senior selected hole 3 of Tróia's golf course as one of the best he has ever designed, and included it in his ideal 18-hole course. There are two holes worth mentioning in particular: hole 3, a par 4 that fits perfectly in the landscape with a magnificent sea view, was considered by Robert Trent Jones Senior one of the best he has ever designed, and he included it in his ideal 18-hole golf course; and hole 18 is a par 5 left dogleg, with an elevated green and protected by three front bunkers.
